So on another one of my days that I really should have been writing some of my final research papers I instead found myself drive to start clearing out some movies that had been piling up on my Netflix Instant queue and I actually found some really good movies that I hadn't counted on seriously enjoying as much as I did.I have a love of historical movies that care some real substance. Especially anything that throws in some drama, warfare and more than a dash of romance causes me to become hooked. Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Centurion, Lost in Austen (I know, the weird one out), 300, 10000 BC, Snow White and the Huntsman, and the new Robin Hood with Russell Crowe as the lead. I have a weakness for that man in anything that is historical or directed by Ridley Scott.. God that man is a genius.. But I digress..

I watch Ironclad with James Purefoy as the lead and while I have seen him in a few movies before I have never really taken much notice of him but this.. Wow, he kinda blew me away and even with the kinda unrealistic love connection with Isabel ( still would have loved to be Kate Mara in those scenes) he was pretty good at playing the Templar Knight. However I must say that at least for me, I believe that to his credit to Paul Giamatti playing the role of King John was the well rounded and astounding character in the movie. You might not agree with me on that, but you have to admit that he was amazing in this movie.

But without a doubt my biggest surprise of the night was finally taking the time to watch Bathory (2008) and I am grateful that I did. I finally took the time to sit down and watch this, and to be completely honest I wasn't not expecting much out of this movie at all but I was captured and found that if has made it to me wanting to buy it on Amazon to add to my collection (which is ridiculous huge already). And wow, I don't know how old she is but Anna Freil is quite an attractive woman, geesh. And I pretty much really liked the ending and it really kicked my plot bunnies into over-drive which really hasn't happened in awhile.

My passions are for seemingly misunderstood and strong women in history. Anne Boleyn for one, but this one about Erzsebet Bathory really captured my attention.

And Anna Freil is a sexy woman.
